(FREDERICTON, NB) The UNB Varsity Reds women’s cross country team finished their season with a seventh place finish in the team standings at the Atlantic University Sport championships, at Odell Park, in Fredericton on Saturday.
The VReds ran seventh in an eight team field, posting 168 points.
The finishers, placing, and times (6km) for UNB were:
Nathalie Cecire 20th 25:15
Priya Bhutani 25th 25:35
Catherine Tremblay 40th 28:02
Emma Wistaff 41st 28:14
Christina Hubbard 42nd 28:25
Cailie McGuire dnf
Katie Robinson dnf
“This was a tough race. We were hit with some health issues during the race that saw Cailie McGuire and Katie Robinson not being able to finish and that definitely hurt our score,” said head coach Jason Reindl. “The rest of the team ran as hard as they could, which is all we can ultimately ask for.”
The Dalhousie Univeristy Tigers won the team championship with a perfect score of 15 points, sweeping the top five positions. St. FX took second and University de Moncton was third.
