After taking this past weekend off the Varsity Reds are looking to make their presence felt in Halifax on Saturday October 5th at the 2013 Saint Mary's and Dalhousie University Invitational Cross Country meet, where the ladies will get their second chance at the new racing distance of 6km.
Leading the team will be team captain, Sarah Myatt, who has put together two solid runs in the first half of the season. Expected to join her in the front of the pack is rookie Katie Robinson, second year Nathalie Cecire, and another rookie Kelsey Hogan. The women's team has finished 3rd at the past two meets and will be looking to keep the pressure on Dalhousie and StFX. Joining the previously named will be Courtney Barbour, Hannah Connon, Priya Bhutani, Laura Clarke, Caroline MacIssac, and Allyson Pickard-Tattrie.
With two more competitions after this weekend's meet left in the AUS season the women will be looking to gain momentum heading into the last half of the season. Following this weekend the team will be headed to Montreal for a meet against some of the top schools in Quebec on October 12th and then the AUS Championships in Moncton on the 26th of October.
This weekend's AUS race will be starting at 12:00pm in Point Pleasant Park, Halifax, from the Sailor's Monument.
