UNB takes Capers in five sets
(SYDNEY, NS) It was a hard fought match, but the Cape Breton University Capers women's volleyball team came out on the short end of a 3-2 decision to the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds Friday night.

After dropping the opening set 25-15, the Capers rallied to take the next two sets 25-14 and 25-18. UNB would regain control in the fourth set, winning 25-9 before closing out the match by a 15-10 score.

With the loss, the Capers fall to 0-4 on the year while the Varsity Reds improve to 4-0.

Sarah Jane Ferguson and Janette Simmonds had three kills apiece for the Capers while Katherine Roberge had 13 digs.

Allison Quiring had four kills to lead UNB while Jacqueline Sebetovsky and Janie-Eve Doucet had three kills each. Maggie McLenahan had 21 digs for the winner.

The Capers will be back in action Saturday when they face Moncton in a 2 p.m. start at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.
