V-Reds defeat Acadia 3-1 to move on to semi-final vs SMU

February 14, 2014 (HALIFAX, N.S.) – UNB defeated Acadia Friday night by a score of  3-1 in the second quarter-final match of the 2014 Subway AUS women's volleyball championship at the Dalplex.

With the win, the Varsity-Reds move on into the second semifinal game, Saturday February 15, at 7pm, to take on the second place Saint Mary's Huskies.

 Subway Player of the Game Paige Nelmes led the game in digs tonight for her team tonight with ten digs. Vanja Mitrovic led the game with 19.5 points and her teammate Celina Abba had the second highest amount of point for UNB with 12.5 points.
 

Marissa Chin was leading scorer for the Acadia, with 15 points. Her teammate Meg Rector finished the game with 12 points and Kristen Bolduc finished with 11.5.

 UNB player of the game, Paige Nelmes said she is excited to keep getting better in the next games.
 
The winner of the first quarter-final game, the ­­­­­­­­­­UNB Varsity-Red will take on the Dalhousie Tigers tomorrow at 4:30pm before the second semifinal game. The winners of tomorrow's semifinal games will play each other in the championship on Sunday, February 16, to determine the AUS women's volleyball champions.
