Women's Track & Field - NB Indoor 2014 Recap

The 2014 New Brunswick Indoor Championships was dominated by UNB.  The meet on February 8th held in Oromocto was the last competition before the AUS championships and UNB showed that they will be ready to compete for AUS titles.

The start of the meet for the women was Nathalie Cecire.  Cecire who was a multiple medalist at last years AUS championships is coming into peak form at just the right time.  On Saturday she won both the 400m and 600m in seasonal bests. 
Other strong results from UNB included:
Anne Ugabi who won the junior 60m.
Ashley Gallagher who set a seasons best in route to winning the junior 300m.
Katie Robinson who finished second in the junior 400m and 600m.
Priya Bhutani who won the senior 800m and 1500ms.
Paige Lewis who won the senior 60m hurdles.
Tess McDonald who won the junior long jump and triple jump.
Victoria Oduneye who won the junior shot put and weight throw.
Zoe Berry who won the senior shot put and finished 3rd in the senior weight throw.

"With this being our last meet before championships we were hoping to come in, compete hard, and leave healthy.  We definitely achieved our goals.  Our team is feeling very confident and optimistic heading into the AUS Championships," said head coach Jason Reindl.
