UNB Swimming- AUS Meet #4 @ Dal

UNB Swimming- AUS Meet #4 @ Dal

This past weekend, the Varsity Reds swim team headed to Dalhousie University for their final tune-up meet before the AUS Championships.

The women had lots of great performances, led by fourth year Kin Student Kaitlyn Young and first year Kin student Lauren Adam, who both had  two second and two third place finishes.
Amanda Greene had a great swim to win the 50 backstroke and Juliana Vantellingen and Cassey Mooney also had strong top 3 finishes.
After studying in Australia first term, Jessica LeBlanc was a welcome addition back to the roster with two third place finishes. The women's also placed second in the medley relays and third in the freestyle relay.
Leading the men's team was Brandon Warren with two first place finishes. Eyad Albassiouny also had strong swims with a first place and two second place finishes. Chris Garcelon and Taylor Dalke had top three finishes as well.
"This was a great training meet for the team. Some athletes stepped up and had great swims that will prepare them for the upcoming AUS Championships at MUN in three weeks. Numerous athletes are very close to the CIS standard, and hopefully with a little more training and a big taper, we will add some athletes to the CIS Championship roster during the AUS Championship in Newfoundland."
