(SYDNEY, NS) The 2016 season has come to an end for the UNB Varsity Reds.

UNB fell 2-1 to the No. 4 seeded St. FX X-Women, in quarter-final play at the Subway AUS Women's Championship, at Cape Breton University.

X midfielder Margaux Fraser(Mississauga, ON) finally broke through with a top corner strike in the 72nd minute to make it 2-0.

UNB was awarded a penalty in the 76th minute, and Lauren Cubbon(Saskatoon, SK) scored to get UNB within one.
