Colford Runs 12th at AUS Championships

(WOLFVILLE, NS) The Dalhousie Tigers raced away with the team title at the Subway Atlantic University Sport Cross Country Championships, in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, on Saturday.

Five Dal runners finished in the top 10.

Michael Colford(New Maryland, NB) was the top Varsity Red, finishing 12th in the 45 man field.

Ian Verschoor(Berwick, NB) was 18th, while Isaac Cull(Pubnico, NS) was 22nd.

Trevor Morrison(Lower Coverdale, NB) ran 26th with Ben Tremblay(Fredericton, NB) 28th and Mitch Spragg(Douglas, NB) 34th.

UNB was fourth in the team standings.

Colford was named male winner of the AUS Student-Athlete Community Service Award.

The second year chemical engineering student serves as his team's representative on UNB's Athletes Council, volunteers with the Varsity Reds 'Read With The Reds' program, and serves as an assistant coach with the Fast Tracks club team.
