(MONCTON, NB) The University de Moncton hosted the fourth and final pre-championship meet of the AUS cross-country season, on Saturday. The 8km race took the 68 finishers across the UdeM campus, which many regard as the toughest course in the AUS.
The VReds finished in a season best third place overall, with 100pts. The top team was St. FX, currently ranked 8th in the nation, with 17 points. Dalhousie was second, followed by UNB, Memorial and UdeM.
Individually the VReds top finisher was Joshua Shanks, who finished 23rd place overall.

“The goal from the start of the year was to be ready to compete for a podium position at the AUS championships. Getting on the podium today was a big confidence booster and when the last race is on our home course, we can’t help but feel good heading into it,” said coach Jason Reindl.
Next up, the AUS Championships, in Fredericton at Odell Park, hosted by St. Thomas University, on October 31st. The women’s 10km race will start at 12:00pm.
