After taking this past weekend off the Varsity Reds have put some quality training and are looking to move up in the team competition battle after finishing 6th at the most recent StFX Invitational.
The team is heading to Halifax on Saturday October 5th for the 2013 Saint Mary's & Dalhousie University Invitational Cross Country meet where the men will get their third chance at the 8km distance before moving up to 10km at the AUS championships.
The team will be led by captain, James Murphy, who is coming off a recent 10km victory at the Accreon Fall Classic. Joining Murphy will be runner up in the Classic, Taylor Lamarche and with these two back in the line-up the team will be sure to move up in the standings. Joining them will be Jonathan Bunn, who was the teams' top finisher at StFX, Colby Craig, Chris McNamara, Marc Manuel, Nevan Tait, and Clayton Holteen.
With two more competitions after this weekend's meet before the AUS championships the men will be looking to gain momentum heading into the last half of the season.
Following this weekend the team will be headed to Montreal for a meet against some of the top schools in Quebec on October 12th and then the AUS Championships in Moncton on the 26th of October.
This weekend's race will be starting at 12:45pm in Point Pleasant Park, Halifax, from the Sailor's Monument.
