James Murphy leads men's team to overall 3rd place

In the first official cross country meet of the season the men's and women's teams took to a muddy, wet course at Odell Park in Fredericton hosted jointly by UNB and STU.

The men's individual 10,000m race winner was John Kuto of Saint Mary's University who led the field with a time of 26.01.

UNB's top finisher, James Murphy, placed 8th overall with a time of 27:18.  Other counters for UNB were Chris MacNamara 29:26, Taylor Lamarche 29:55, Brent McCumber 30:09, and Colby Craig, 30:19.

Overall the men placed 3rd out of the six teams.

Next stop on the cross country team's schedule is the St. FX Invitational on October 5th.
