LeBlanc Misses USports Mark By Fractions

(HALIFAX, NS) Justin LeBlanc(Dieppe, NB) was close. Very close.

LeBlanc missed qualifying for the USports Canada swimming championships by five-one-hundredths of a second, Saturday.

LeBlanc finished fourth in the men's 100 metre breaststroke, at Dalhousie University's Kemp-Fry Invitational Meet, in a time of 1:03.34.

The USports qualifying standard in the event is 1:03.29.

On Friday, in the 50 metre breaststroke, LeBlanc missed the USports standard by one-tenth of a second.

In other events Saturday, Lauren Adam(Fredericton, NB) swam 6th in the women's 50 metre freestyle, and 7th in the women's 100 metre breaststroke.

Andrea Greene(Riverview, NB) was 6th in the women's 50 metre backstroke, and Kayla Martin(Kenora, ON) was 6th in the women's 200 metre freestyle.

In the team competitions, the Varsity Reds are in 5th place on the women's side, and 6th in the men's standings.

The final day of competition goes Sunday.
