(FREDERICTON, NB) 2018 was a good one for the UNB Reds. So good, it’s worth one more look back.

A long championship drought ended, women’s hockey made a triumphant return, and Javon Masters became the all-time leading scorer in U SPORTS men’s basketball.

A calendar year like that is worth celebrating.

So, we’re going to do just that, and we need your help.

We’ve surveyed a select group of UNB Reds administrators and student-athletes to determine the top eight moments from 2018.

We’ve ranked them, and will now play two moments against each other in a daily Twitter poll which will, eventually, determine your favourite moment of 2018.

The match-ups are:

No. 1 – Reds men’s basketball team wins AUS championship for the first time since 1967.

vs.

No. 8 – Reds swimmer Leah Smal qualifies for four events at U SPORTS national championships.

No. 2 – Reds women’s hockey returns.

vs.

No. 7 – Reds women’s basketball player Laura Kaye reaches 1000 career points plateau.

No. 3 – Javon Masters becomes all-time leading scorer in U SPORTS men’s basketball history.

vs.

No. 6 – Reds men’s volleyball team wins third straight AUS championship.

No. 4 – Reds men’s hockey team earns bronze medal at national championship tournament.

vs.

No. 5 – Reds men’s curling team earns bronze medal at national championship bonspiel.

Twitter polls begin Monday, January 7th and run through Sunday, January 13th.

Your favourite moment will be the winner of the final Twitter poll, which will end on Monday, January 14th.

You can participate in the daily poll at our Twitter page: @UNBAthletics
